Ceres was the Roman goddess of agriculture and motherly relationships, and she symbolises the importance of this overall award. It will be given to the company or individual who, in the unanimous opinion of the judges, has demonstrated outstanding achievement in, and contribution to, Ireland’s agriculture-related sector. The recipient will be chosen from a shortlisted panel of nominees selected by the judges, and will not be subject to a nomination process.
